It is a direct marketing strategy, where products are sold to customers by means of referrals or word of mouth marketing. The technique is commonly known as ‘Referral Marketing’ or ‘Network Marketing’. This strategy of marketing has been widely associated with House-wives and part time workers who are looking for an extra source of income. From cosmetics to apparels to much varied healthcare products or accessories, MLM has made a mark in every field.

The pyramid payment structure allows the person to get lucrative returns on behalf of sales done by the subordinates. So, before falling for this money making scheme, here are a few tips which one should consider.

1>        Make a wise choice

Before you choose the marketing company offering MLM, consider finding answers for the following questions. Find how old is the company. It helps in knowing the stability of the company. Check the products sold by the company, whether they have demand or just fancy items. Enquire about the payment scheme of the company – commission based or fixed, weekly or monthly. Find if the company is been run by experienced and proven people, you don’t want to end up working for fake schemes. Check whether the scheme has benefited a number of individuals and reputed enough. Finally, check whether the company provides adequate field and product training.

2>        Keep on practicing what is taught

The harder you work, the more you will get. The MLM industry works on proven principles, which need to be implemented for achieving considerable success. Only when you get out, and keep on practicing what has been taught, you will makes sales.

3>        Always look for guidance from seniors

Your seniors have been there and done it before. So, always be ready to take their advice. Their support will be essential to for you to avoid certain mistakes and exploit some opportunities.
